Rain washes out third ODI.

Rain washed out the third ODI between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat. They faced only 6.2 overs and made 12 for the loss of 2 wickets.

Winning the toss, the Lankans chose to bat again. Opener Tillakaratne Dilshan played a tremendous innings of 119 not out, which helped Sri Lanka to post 280 runs on the board.

Pakistan needed to chase 281. They were moving on very smoothly and nicely when they were just 2 down for 127, when Misbah's wicket fell, and a great collapse started. In the end, Thisara Perera ended with 6-44, the best figure by any bowler against team pakistan and that earned him Man of the Match award.

Gul, Sami help Pakistan win first ODI.

Man of the match Umar Gul (3-24) and Mohammad Sami (3-19) were the star bowlers and performers in a low scoring match, which in the end, Pakistan won easily

Sri lanka won the toss and made just 134 after 42 overs. The match was affected by rain, so Pakistan Had to make 135 in 4s overs (D/L method). Pakistan struggled earlier losing opner Azhar Ali and also Younis Khan in quick session, but Opener  Mohammad Hafeez, Misbah and Umar Akmal gave the innings support, so Pakistan got to the target in 34.1 overs.

Yesterday shahid Afridi broke two T20 records.

• One that he became the only player in T20 history to play 50 T20 matches.
• And he became the only pakistani player to get past 500 runs and get 50 wickets in t20.

Afridi inspired Pakistan to bounce back and sqaure T20 series

Shahid Afridi's superb all-round helped Pakistan to an easy 23-runs victory over Sri Lanka.

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bat and collapsed to 41-4. But then came in Shahid Afridi and Shoaib Malik, who took the game away from the lankans posting a 58 runs partnership, which gave them a lift. Because these two, Pakistan finaly got to 122-6 after 20 overs, when it was looking they might not even get 100 runs.

In reply, hosts Sri Lanka were shot out for just 99, which is their lowest T20 score against Pakistan. Yasir Arafat and Mohammad Sami were very imperssive as they both got 3 wickets. Shahid Afridi got two while Saeed Ajmal also managed to get a wicket in his last over. Shahid Afridi was named man of the match for his terrific allround performance.


The series was squared 1-1 so both team had to share the trophy.

Mahela Jayawardene and Mohammad Hafeez shake hands after Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in the first Twenty20 in Hambantota. After winning the toss and batting, Sri lanka posted 132 runs. Sohail Tanvir blew the top order as he got his career best figures, 3 for 12 in 4 overs. Thisara Perera made 32 in 16 in a late blow to give some hope to Sri Lanka.
In reply Pakistan lost two wickets in 2 balls, which started a big batting collapse as they were bundled out for just 95 in 17.4 overs, courtesy to some great Srilankan fielding and bowling.
